Birds of Rainbow Creek - a species list
Below is a species list of the most common birds you can see or hear at Rainbow Creek. Most are also common to the greater Bellingen and Mid Coast region. Some of these birds are migratory and pass through every year. All birds recorded here are confirmed species with visual or audio identification.
Rare and endangered Glossy Black cockatoos frequently feed in several select forest oaks around Rainbow Creek.
The Glossy Project identified a nest tree just over the ridge from Rainbow Creek. The glossy family still occasionally visits and feed on selected trees. Please document any sightings here to be part of this important conservation project.
